Compucon started business in Auckland in 1992 in making PC, workstation, and server computing systems. Compucon is the trading name for Modern Technology NZ Limited which obtained ISO-9001 quality management certification in 1995.

Quality assurance has since won virtually all customers whom Compucon served.  Compucon Systems Division builds on this unique PC and quality assurance backgrounds as the foundation. PC, workstation, and server computing systems are called ‘general purpose’ because they can be used for a wide range of applications.

Compucon System Divisions retain all the manufacturing merits for building facility applications and apply the merits to building facility systems.
